Kristin Holmes ASID is the owner of Swan Interiors an interior design firm in Kīhei and home furnishings store in Wailuku. With over 35 years as a business owner, she brings her business background and organizational skills to the board. She is a published author of two books on history and architecture with a focus on historic preservation. Her commitment to the arts and cultural community is evident through ongoing donations of time, talent, and treasure. Kristin is the Vice-President of the Wailuku Downtown Association, a non-profit group in partnership between the County of Maui setting the foundation to accomplish changes that will benefit everyone in the island community. Having a vibrant Arts and Cultural District is one of the goals of the WDA. MCO is one of the key organizations for the Arts and Cultural District in Wailuku. As an active participant of both boards, she helps to keep the spotlight on the added value of the MCO to Wailuku. Kristin developed the CHIMES program, Communities Helping in Music Education for Schools with the goal of securing donations to feed into schools. She has been a chorister with many different choral organizations over the past 25 years. A full appreciation of the quality of music programming under the direction of Robert Wills is the motivation to be a part of the MCO board.
