Abby grew up in Lincoln, Alabama, where she began learning violin at the age of 8. She attended high school at the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham. In 2004, she was the Alabama scholarship recipient of the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Festival. Abby received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying with Gabe Pegis of the Cincinnati Symphony. While in school, she participated in many summer music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, CCM Spoleto, and the National Orchestra Institute.
Abby has been playing with the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra since 2016 and began playing with the Maui Chamber Orchestra in 2017. She also currently plays with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra in Maryland. Abby has held positions with the Huntsville Symphony and has played regularly with the Richmond Symphony as well as the Auckland Philharmonia. She made her solo debut in 2012 with the Gadsden Symphony Orchestra. Abby has also been a private violin instructor for almost a decade and was the violin instructor at Jacksonville University and Talladega College for two years while living in Alabama.
