Erica Jernaill began her relationship with the cello at age six. After developing her skills under the instruction of Leah Tinklemann, she joined the Maui Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of eight. In 2011, at the age of twelve, she entered the world of professional music after being asked to play for a Maui Masterworks production of the Bach Magnificat and other such works.
In subsequent years, she’s had the pleasure of performing with an array of other musical groups; including the Maui Pops Orchestra, Maui Chamber Orchestra, Maui Academy of Performing Arts, and the Hawaii Youth Symphony Orchestra on Oahu. Throughout her many musical experiences, she has performed alongside renowned artists such as Uluwehi Guerrero, Willie K, and Jimmy Borges. She has also provided professional music for weddings and other such occasions volunteered for charity events and contributed to various productions at her former high school King Kekaulike.
In addition to playing the cello, Erica has a passionate interest in acting and has performed extensively with Maui Academy of Performing Arts, taken masterclasses with university-level teachers and received acceptance into some of the nation’s top acting programs, including the prestigious Stella Adler camp of New York. She also enjoys playing guitar and composing her own music.
