Henry Arroyo


Henry hails from sunny Fresno, California where he has studied the trombone since age 10 under Robert Bergstrom and Les Nunes. He graduated from Fresno City College in 2005 with a double major in Information Technology and Music Education, focusing on jazz studies with Professor Mike Dana. He has performed with musical greats such as Bobby Shew, Bob Mintzer, Mike Mainieri, Ingrid Jensen, Bill Watrous, Mick Fleetwood, and much more. Henry has been a member of the FMCMEA and CMEA Regional and State Honor Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Bands from 1994–2004.

After college, Henry became the shipboard Music Director and trombonist for Carnival Cruise Lines’ Showband before landing in Maui. Henry’s love for all musical styles has him playing anything from today’s top radio hits to classical chamber music. Today, he freelances all over the state of Hawaii, playing with convention dance bands, Wavetrain, the MAPA Pit Orchestra, Moonglow All-Star Big Band, R.E. Metoyer’s Blues Rock and Soul Band, the Maui Pops Orchestra, the Maui Chamber Orchestra, and others.
