Jasmine Kim


Jasmine started her musical journey on the horn in 2008 at Washington Intermediate School (as the only French horn player!). Then continued to play in McKinley High School’s Wind Ensemble. She performed with McKinley in the 2015 Pacific Basin Music Festival and was invited back to play in 2016 where the Festival was held at Carnegie Hall and won a Gold rating with the highest score ever recorded in the festival. During that time she was also involved with McKinley HS Symphony Orchestra, Hawai’i Youth Symphony, OBDA Select Band, and Pacific Music Institute.

She graduated from McKinley in 2016 and is currently enrolled at the University of Oregon where she is studying Music Performance and Business as a double major. Jasmine plays with the University’s Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and with groups such as the Honolulu Civic Orchestra and Hawai’i Symphonic Band when she is back home in O’ahu. After studying with Marie Lickwar for more than 3 years she is now under Lydia VanDreel in Eugene, Oregon.
