Kerem Esteban is currently the Principal horn player for the 111th Army Band in Honolulu. He also serves as the Principal horn for the Maui Pops Orchestra and the Kamuela Philharmonic on the Big Island of Hawai‘i.
Within the 111th Army National Guard Band, he performs with the organization’s woodwind quintet MPT (Musical Performance Team), Clos du Vent. Clos du Vent performs in schools and other venues to provide music education, entertainment, as well as fostering a connection between the Army National Guard and the community.
Kerem is an Academic Coach at Kalihi Kai Elementary on O‘ahu. His focus is on Reading Intervention and he is one of the Arts Leaders at the school. Kalihi Kai Elementary has been selected to be one of three schools in Hawaii to be part of the Turnaround Arts Program developed by the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.
As a musician, he is deeply connected to the arts and arts integration within schools. As the Arts Leader, he is determined to bring about educational reform using the arts and arts integration.
