Professional musician and Waldorf teacher Peter Della Croce began his musical journey at the early age of nine on the New Jersey shore and earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has taught for over fifteen years while keeping busy performing in various idioms and genres. Currently, he is actively playing with the Maui Chamber and Maui Pops orchestras, Dr. Nat & Rio Ritmo (Latin band which plays salsa, samba, and more), and Marimba Komborera (African dance band). Peter was the founding Lead Drummer and instructor for the Isle of Maui Pipe Band, in which he still plays as a snare drummer. He also recently formed the Glen Innes Session Band (an Irish and Scottish traditional ensemble) with three other island Celtic musicians, coming from the former Celtic band from 2010 named Finn McCoul. Peter teaches all levels/styles of drums and beginner/intermediate levels of guitar and ukulele.
His experience includes teaching at the high school and university level at Mahidol University College of Music in Thailand and assisting in the band program at Kamehameha Schools Maui. Over the past few years, Peter has been associated and performed with the Maui Academy of Performing Arts, ProArts, Seabury Hall, and other non-profit organizations including the Arts Education for Children Group and Jazz Maui. He has taught private music lessons on Maui at Bounty Music and other studios. Peter has directed choirs at the Honolulu and Haleakala Waldorf Schools and taught general music at Horizons Academy of Maui.
Performing with musical theater and classical, jazz and rock, Latin and African bands, and even bagpipe bands in places like Hawaii and Thailand to New York and Boston, Peter has been making music for over 25 years.
