In 2001 Stuart moved to North Carolina and joined the Winston-Salem Orchestra in the principal position. In 2003 he was accepted into the prestigious Appalachian Symphonic Orchestra program at ASU under Dr. Anderson. In 2005 Stuart relocated Chapel Hill to study violin at the University of North Carolina under Dr. Tonu Kalum. At UNC he studied violin with Dr. Kim and eventually made it to the second stand of the first violin section in the UNC-CH Symphonic Orchestra. In 2006 Stuart was chosen for the honor of performing violin with Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutti on tour.

In the summer of 2010, he decided to move to Maui and make it his home. Since moving to Maui he has played at the Maui Arts and Culture Center (MACC) several times with some of the best slack key artists. Here in Maui, Stuart has performed with George Kahumoku Jr. and Da Ukulele Boyz, he has performed with the legendary Ledward Kaapana, and the most legendary Hawaiian songwriter Dennis Kamakahi who has several songs on the radio currently and was introduced into the Sons of Hawaii at age 19.
